Thompson Center Service (Not)
Bought a TC Encore in .308. Fired five kinds of ammo including premium and tried two scopes. Shoots up to 14 inch groups at 100 yards, sandbagged and benched. Averages about six inches. Emailed TC a month ago. Three days later they sent me the spring and locking bolts for the barrel. No explanation. I can't see how replacing these would improve accuracy to an already tight action. Subsequent emails have been unanswered.
Could replacing the locking bolts improve accuracy that much? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I am very surprised. I had a TC .22 hornet barrel that had an extractor that was too long and they sent a replacement immediately. I also belong to a metalic silo. group and many shoot TC's. Service has always been exceptional. Hopefully Thompson Center will get wind of this situation and do the right thing. Good Luck. 0 -
Just my luck....I haven't replaced the parts as it may be they shipped them to me by mistake and I can't see how they would make a difference. I hate to shoot up the expensive ammo and get no improvement.....Thanks for your reply 0 -
Why not give them a call 1-800-243-4570 I'm sure they will take care of the problem even if it means a replacement.

I will do that, thank you for the phone number! 0 -
T-C has the best customer service I have ever dealt with. The absolute worse is Remington. After dealing with Remington,I don't even use their brass to reload much less buy any of their firearms. 0 -
Update on TC service.....Sent rifle in and got it back today with a new barrel. Turns out I was not getting their replies to my emails. Now to shoot it... 0 -
Dannei, Keep us posted. I have many T/C products and the will fix anything as long as you own the gun. Good luck.

First of all I have to agree with the post on Remington customer service. It doe's not exist! To address the the TC issue I can only add this. About ten years ago I sent a contender back that locked up on my wife after firing. It was a .221 fireball with an octagon barrel. I knew they would modify the the receiver to comply to current standards and had no problem with that. I got a letter stating that the "barrel was out of spec." and would not function safely. I had and still do use this barrel on three other recievers.
I called them and and told them this. I got no satisfaction. They offered a 10" bull barrel as a replacement. When my attorney got involved I had my pistol back in three days! I still have my wifes favorite barrel that shoots great. Things may have changed but I still have a bad feeling about TC. Someone there wanted this barrel.
