Belgian A-5

Friends, I would appreciate your informed input as to the compatability of receivers/stocks among the different years at Browning FN. Specifically, I would like to know whether a 1954 A5 (s/n L12935) receiver will make up to the stock of a 1969 A5 (s/n 69G9485)or, inversely, will the 1969 receiver make up to the 1954 stock? That is, fit together without requiring any woodworking or inletting. I understand there is a "long tang"/"short tang" element to the A5 receivers and I wonder whether that is a factor here?
