Where to buy a Ruger 10/22 cheap?

Does anyone happen to know where I may purchase a Ruger 10/22 cheap? Big 5 Sporting Goods here in CA is selling them for $169 next week. Also I plan to upgrade with a bull barrel and a new stock. I like the way the "barracuda" stocks look, but also like the way the Bell & Carlson Anschultz stock look too. I want to use for target and hopefully soon..hunting. Will the barracuda work for hunting? Barrel wise, how are the brands out there, especially Magnum Research barrels which are supposed to be lighter. Your opinions are deeply appreciated.

  Best places I've found to buy a 10/22:
  used: pawn shops. Have picked up several for $100 or less
  new: Wal-Mart, Bass Pro Shops or Academy (when they are on sale -- usually around $139 in TX).

  Look for one in a pawn shop that may have a damaged stock & or barrel as you intend to replace them anyway. Remember in such a case the price should be negotiable.

  I saw one 3 hours ago in a Walmart store in Northern Arizona for $158.

  Saw new 1's at Sports Authority in Calif. a few days ago was 139.00. Stainless were 189.00

  Call around at your local pawn shops, and just ask if any of them are willing to sell a used 10/22 for $75 out the door.

  1962: $49 everywhere & less on sale. Even harder to get there.
  If you adjust for inflation the current price is not too bad.
