Dillon Scale
I'm looking to upgrade from my Lee scale and I was going to get one from a friend, but he ended up needing it again, So I was looking at the Dillon beam scale. Have any of you had any experience with it one way or another. Also, I'm just starting to reload rifle and I was wondering with the spray case lube, do you still have to lube the inside of the case neck. Thanks a lot.

Dillon is very Reputable,they have good products and stand behind them.As for case lube,I always lube the case neck.Not that you have to but it seems to help my brass last longer.Maybe someone else can give you their opinion.There are some here that knows much more on the topic than me.

I don't have any experience with Dillon scales but I know that their customer satisfaction is generally pretty high.
As far as case lube, for all of my straight wall rifle and pistol brass I use Hornady "One Shot". I place 50 pieces or so in a med. size paper bag and give it a 3-4 second burst of spray. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds and you're good to go.
For necked or rifle brass, I use the "old fashioned" method of a rolling pad and swab.

garandfan, I use the Dillon scales. They have served me well with no problems. I had a set of Ohaus 505 scales that I used for 20+ years and gave them to a friend who was starting to reload and had a set of LEE scales that came with his kit. I gave them to him because of ease of operation and easy to read. I really think that the Dillon, RCBS, OHAUS are all probably the same scale just different color. As far as lubing inside case necks, Pacific used to make a lube called "UNIQUE". It looked like lard to me but it worked. I would dip the case neck into the lube every 5-6 cases. I'm still using the first little container that I bought in 1975!!! GHD 0 -
I bought a RCBS Partner digital and have never been happier ... had an Ohaus 505 and the RCBS is accurate and so much faster I couldn't believe it ...

Ground hog hits it on the scale selection. I use the dillon spray lube and it works great if you are resizing larger cases vs. 223's you could stand a bunch of cases in your loading block then spray them on an angle this will get some of the lube in the necks. I have a dillon 650 and have no problem with the 223's since my rifle chamber is tight. a few squirts on a hundred and into the hopper they go. 0 -
I USE MIDWAY CASE LUBE SPRAY, I PUT THE CASES ON A NEWS PAPER WITH THE MOUTHS FACING ME AND SPRAY, THEN ROLL THE CASES IN THE LUBE, THAT WAY THE MOUTHS GET LUBED, 0 -
I have a Lyman balance scale, it seemed to be an inacurate pos, so I bought an LE1000, I've recently sent it back to Lyman for repair (I only get an error message and it will not zero)but they can't fix it. However, they'lle be glad to sell me a new one just under suggested retail! I'd stay away from the if I were you, Dillon is propably the best way to go and you get a lifetime no B.S warenty! 0 -
I use the Dillon beam scale and the Dillon spray lube and both work fine. I spread out my pistol brass in a old cake pan and sray a little lube on them and let it sit for 15 minutes to let the lube evaporate. Makes them go thru my RL550 as smooth as a babies butt. I periodically check to make sure my scale is properly balanced so it gives me an accurate reading. After 100,000 rounds thru my press, everything works just like the day I bought it. Dillon is one fine company to deal with and they make top of the line equipment. 0
