I have a Springfield .45 auto but the receiver is stamped Essex armory. This a relatively new weapon both the hammer and trigger are skeletized. Does this sound like a Springfield?? thanks doc doc

I came across a Colt 1911 A1, ser. no.243XXXX w/5 clips and the original issue box that it came in. It is in extemely nice condition. I'm interested in its value. Any help will be appreciated.

6 grooves, lefthand twist was standard.
But who cares? Your gun is a shooter.....if it shoots well with 8-10 grooves, fine. If not, barrels are cheap and easy to replace.0
