Ruger Blackhawk
Would a Blackhawk with the barrel marked "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty" be worth a premium over a standard blackhawk?

Current manufacture 44 Mag Blackhawk. Will be loading/shooting hard cast, lead bullets. What is the barrel twist rate and what weight bullets will shoot most accurately with that twist rate? Thanks! 0 -
Only if you have a .45acp cylinder for it.The acp cartridge is reimless,the colt has a rim that stops it from falling through the cylinder.I'm not sure if the cylinder can be purchased separately or must be fitted and shipped at the factory.

Believe it can but you will have to buy some half moon clips to hold them rimless shells from falling thru the cylinder.

426.... You do not need moon clips to shoot 45ACP in the Blackhawk, otherwise you would have to remove the cylinder for each reload.
I have one of the new Blackhawks in .45. It came with 2 cylinders.. one for 45LC and one for 45ACP. The ACP shells chamber on the front rim of the casing against the shoulder in the cylinder. The long colt shells chamber on the case rim as mentioned above. Both are extracted with the manually operated extractor rod.

most people will tell you to send the gun back to Ruger to be fitted with a 45 acp cylinder, but some times you can get lucky and find a 45 acp cylinder that will fit with out going to the factory for it. my Ruger manual shows price for cylinder is around $60 plus minimum labor of $10 and shipping of $5 call Ruger at 603-863-3300 0 -
I did call and was quoted $72 for cylinder, $20 labor and $20 shipping. I keep looking at shows for a loose cylinder, let me know if you find a spare!
