.257 Weatherby
Is a .257 Weatherby too small for Michigan size deer?

I would say the 257 weatherby mag is plenty of gun for deer anywhere in the US provided you have the right bullet. I took a 325 lb russian boar with mine, and you should have seen the damage it did. Lets just say I didn't have to track it. 0 -
I have owned 2 257 weatherby rifles. They relay do a number on white tail deer. I shot one large deer at 150 yards and the deer turned a compleat backwards flip, I shot him head on in the chest. The only problem I have had is the 257 Weatherby did not do well shooting in a cain thicket. I had a trophy deer walking in a cain thicket and I saw an opening and took the shot. I did not see the single stalk of cain that deflicted my bullet. Live and learn. I use 120gr Nosler partition bullets.
