Thompson .22cal. conversion

Does anyone out there have any experience with the Ceiner .22 cal. conversion for the Thompson? I know he will not warrent it with anything other than the Colt. He told me he tested it with two Auto-Ordnance Thompsons and it did work. But I would really like to hear from someone that has one, before I take a chance on ending up with a $500.00 paperweight.
