10/22 Mag ejector

I have a Ruger 10/22 magnum which I bought at an estate sale. I knew the man who owned it. It has less than 300 rounds through it. It will not eject reliably. It ejects two or three, then jams. Sometimes it leaves the empty case completely in the chamber, and sometimes it is halfway out. I have taken it down and thoroughly cleaned it including working the chamber over with a nylon brush.This seemed to help as it does not jam every time now. Has anyone else had this problem? I have only tried one brand of ammo.It was Federal Premium. Next weekend, I plan to try another brand.
