Ruger P89 disassembly help
I have a problem and was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have field stripped my P89 many times and know how to do it. But this time when I tried to slide the slide forward after pulling out the slide stop pin, it would move about half an inch and then get stuck. The gun still shoots fine and the only thing that I can notice any difference on is the guide rod sticks out about a 1/4 inch more than normal. This has happened once before, and I took it to my local gun shop and he fixed it in about 5 mins in the back room, so I couldn't see how he did it. I remember him mentioning something along the lines of the slide stop being in the wrong position when it was last inserted after a routine cleaning. Short of taking it back to the shop, does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it and keep it from happening. If I can't get it on my own, I'll take it to the guy, I just wanted to see if I can get it myself. Thanks.

You have to push the ejector down to get the slide off.
With the slide locked back, reach into the ejection port and push it down.
Ruger will send you a manual for free if you ask.

I have the manual and I know about pushing the ejector down, that's not the problem. I can't figure it out, I've taken it down many times before, but this is the second time that the slide won't budge. I don't know exactly how but I think it's from how the slide stop was pushed in the last time I did it, like it didn't go in quite right, but I am not sure.
