B-West AK47S, info please....

Had a good gunshow here in Wichita for those who missed it, there were enough people laid-off in the area that buying prices were very reasonable, from my point of view.

I bought a B-West AK47S, complete firearm, definately pre-ban with threaded barrel and underfolding bayonet for $500.00. It wasn't one of their imported rifles, nor was it one of the bare receivers they sold, as indicated by the serial numbers. I have read on AK47.net that some of these have had trouble with soft receivers, but there is suppose to be a solution to that. I guess probably re-heat treating. And apparently, some of them are fine as is. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'd say probably 5% of the receiver area has light rust pits started. I'd been wanting a short version to go along with my Polytech 20" heavy barrel and the price seemed right.

I couldn't find any prior listings on the B-West AK47S, was wondering what you could tell me about them. In other words, how'd I do? Also, the best care and preservation for the light rust that's started, what should I do to inhibit the spread, possibly until I get around to re-heat treating it.
