AGE of an 1100

I can only find how old this gun is with www.oldguns.net and that site can not tell me how old my Remington 1100 is..a.c.s.r. is on the elft side of barrel

  That is a strange set of letters. I would expect only two letters. The R might be for 1968 or the S for 1969. Is it the original barrel? Is it a remchoke barrel? These letters are near the receiver end of the barrel, right?

  Serial number appears on left side of shotgun just above the trigger guard. Call Remington with this and they can probably help you.

  Guy's this is what's on the barrel

  Hey bud I am not 100% sure but that might not be the orig barrel??but the letters look to have heen hand stamped in diff sized letters
  just my 2-cents

  i think remroc is in the ball park, if you go to www.armscollectors.com you can look up remingtons up until 1972. just type in the 2 or 3 letters on the left side of the barrel. with you having 4 letters, ACSR typed in using different combinations show april or march of 1968 or 1969. i have a remington 1100 16ga. thats stamped PR and that codes to march of 1968.

  Having worked at Remington for 28 yrs. the serial # is stamped on the left side of the receiver usually 2 letters and then the #. The letters and #s you see on the barrel are inspection and assembler stamps also one stamp is a proof stamp showing that the gun has been proof fired and another is a magnaflux stamp showing that it has been checked for internal cracks and flawes.

  Hey guy's called remington today
  
  The gun was made in 1969 the reason for so many letters seems the gun must have been sent back for work at some time
