Can you tell me about this gun?
Can anyone tell me anything about this gun? On top of the barrell on the pistol it says, Carrington & Richardson Arms co, Worchester, Mass., USA Pat OST 1887.

Perhaps it is a Harrington & Richardson? Is it a revolver? Nickel plated? .32 or .38 caliber? Do you lift a latch near the rear sight to make the barrel and cylinder hinge forward and downward; and any cartridges would eject because the ejector star in the center of the cylinder pops up? They made an awful lot of them....and we'll need more specific information to tell you exactly which in a long line of them it is! 0 -
It may be a Harrington and Richardson, I could not find a serial number or anything else on the gun. My grandfather back in 1969 found it in a dump in Oklahoma City....

Shannon, Welcome to this site. I would need to know a little more about your handgun, and a picture would be helpful. Look at that inscription again...possibly Harrington & Richardson? Actually a revolver. H&R is US gunmaker at least since 1880's...manufactured fairly large numbers of relatively inexpensive revolvers and with few exceptions they have little collector interest, but many are reliable shooters. I am in fact looking for a clean, reasonably-priced H&R in .22 or .32 S&W, solid frame. If you'll describe your revolver further, ie. caliber, finish, grips, etc. I'm sure some of these folks can help you more. Best, Jim
