Which 38special revolver with 2? barrel?
I am looking for advice. I use to have S&W 60 revolver with 2" barrel. Recently I decided to replace it something similar but different manufacturer, I am very disappointed with S&W quality and customer service. What will be your recommendation on 38special revolver with 2" barrel?

Do not totally agree with your comments referring to Smith & Wesson, but will make the two following recommendations for a 2" barrel, .38 Special, revolver.
1. Colt Detective Special - .38 Special
2. Colt Magnun Carry - .357 Mag
Both have two inch barrels and six shot capacity. Would personally consider the Colt Magnum Carry as this will give you the versatilety of both .38 Special and .357 Mag.

Unless you were disappointed with your 60, why not just find a clean used one--they are great guns. There are plenty of gunsmiths who work on them, so you don't have to both at all with S&W if that's your beef. FWIW, I shot some very nice groups with mine the other day. Makes me kind of wonder what I have all those guns for...not!

RUGER SP101, Made for all the new .38 +p ammo. I have one with the bobbed hammer, for a carry peice for the wife. trigger pull was crazy but spent 20.00 and made it good for the little lady.

I have an older Colt Det. Special. Great gun, sweet trigger and 6 rounds. Lots of them out there at resonable prices.
I also have a S&W 60. It needed alot of work when I bought it, but with some time and effort, it has a decent trigger is one of my favorite small revolvers now.

Go with the SP101 it is built like a tank,when the cylinder close it has two placces to lock the cylinder.The usual frame method plus Ruger uses the crane to help lock up the guns cylinder.I have one with a 2/14 in barrel in .357mag.At 25yrds you can tear a pie pan into shreds.It shoots much better that my S&W Model 37 chiefs special in .38cal.

S&W 60 was not bad gun until it start misfire. It was reasonably accurate for revolver with 2" barrel. Until recently I used to collect S&W, I have 6906, 686, 639, 63, 5906, 65 and many more, most of them respectable guns. What frustrated me that it was my back-up gun I trusted and when I called S&W for repair estimate, they quoted price almost of the price this gun.0 -
I would be surprised if any manufacturer can do a minor overhaul for < $200. Some companies, such a Ruger and Taurus, perform most repairs for free or a nominal amount; others, such as S&W and Colt, feel that they need to at least break even on repairs, and don't even offer a warranty. You and I can choose which company we will deal with; I am thankful that I live in a democracy where I have that choice.
The problem is, if you want a well-made, light, & very compact 5 shot snubby, S&W is your only choice. Sure, the Ruger SP101 is great, but it's too big and heavy for me. Sometimes you just have to settle for something that is a compromise. As mballai said, you can get a S&W repaired locally; in addition, you won't have to spend $30-40 shipping each way.

I agree with CW. The Taurus M85 in SS is a well made, light, compact 5-shot revolver for around $280 - $300. I am happy with the stock grips on mine.

After looking around I chose the SP-101. As it turned out it was way more accurate than I thought it would be.

Yea if ya didn't like the SW the Taurus 85 or the SP101 would be about top choice, unless u have the cash for a Colt. I have a model 60, personally I'm more than impressed, I picked it up used for $250, and its probably had more time on my ankle than than my pet ferrets.
