Herters universal reloading die
I posted this over at the Gen Dis forum and thought I'd post it here too
I was digging around in one of my boxes last noght and came up with a Herters Universal die set. It is a long single die body with interchangable inserts that you switch to change calibers. I have inserts for 30-40, 30-30, 270, 30-06, 303, 7.7 jap and 22-250.
It has various sizer balls and neck crimping jigs. It's pretty neat but I have no idea where it came from or what it's worth. Have any of you seen these before? If so are they collectable? I was looking for something to throw in the kitty for the mass givaway when I found it.

Wipala, HERTERSPECIALST@aol.com should be about to give you the skinny on this reloader. I can tell you that Herter's was in business from late 1890's as a family business until late 70's or early 80's. The business has resurfaced (name sold I think) recently selling mostly waterfowler supplies. Herter's was the Cabela's of the 1950's thru the mid '70's and sold some great hunting/fishing/camping/taxadermy/fly tying/gunsmithing/and about everything else from knives to traps. This realoader will have been made for them by one of the manufacturer's and is likley to be of good quality for its time. Herterspecialist is probably the authority on Herter's products which are beginning to be a little collectable with guy's like you and I, if not rich guys I have a couple of cataglogs from the late 60's for researching a Herter's rifle I have, so if there are model numbers on your reloader, I may be able to give you some catalog info if it was made during the years I have. .
