  I had two of the 945s, they were not exact copies of the 1911 but were very close, both shot really well but cost more than a good Kimber.

  S&W makes a LOT of parts for Kimber so this isn't much
  of a stretch. S&W is doing some things right and being
  more market oriented is one of them.
