Pretty much what everyone said is true. However, the option I took was Trinidad State Junior College. It has a 3 year program but the advantage is that virtually all the courses you take, except the ones dedicated specifically to gunsmithing, can be transferred to almost any college in the country and used toward a BA or BS ( not related to that which goes on so often in this forum) degree. That is what I did and received my degree in education from a college in Minnesota. Got all the garbage courses out of the way at TSJC and received an AAS in gunsmithing. I suspected that I would never be able to survive as a gunsmith, since, much like an alcholic bartender, I have a tendency to like my product a little too much which in turn clouds my better(?) judgement. Check out TSJC. I promise you, the country around Trinidad is roughly 1 million times nicer than that hellhole Denver and, for all intents and purposes, the entire front range from south of Colorado Springs, to the Wyoming border.

Man I just signed up for that PCDI coorespondance coarse for gunsmithing. Sent off my little contract with my $5 initial payment, and will cost $34 a month. Hope I didn't make a mistake, just something I wanna do in my freetime I guess. Maybe if I actually finish it, it will be something I can add to my resume. 0 -
I've missed something. Dam, I hate that. A 3 year program in what? If you have a degree, any degree, already, you can go anywhere and do anything. Usually. One option, assuming there's just you, is the Services. Mind you, they'll want to make you an officer and weapons techs ain't officers. I think, but don't quote me, that you can refuse a commission. They'd look at you funny though. It's the military and you're supposed to aspire to bigger things.
And there ain't no such thing as a "garbage course". You will always use something from every course you ever do. Even if you don't recognize it. Is an AAS an Associates degree? We don't have them in Canada.

Well military isn't a option for a couple of reasons I won't go into. Will look at that Junior College and see what it has. And I lived in Denver for 3 months once and didnt' really care for it so was trying to see if it was something I really wanted to do and some other options and opionnions on it.
