H & R breakover 223

i'm talking about a rifle identicle to this one:

are these rifles any good. anybody have experience with them?

  Hi Maggie, I have owned several of the H&R's. I currently own a 308 and a 223, they are simply very nice shooting rifles. For the money you can't go wrong!!

  I had one in 38-55, a bit hard on the shoulder. They are currently on sale around here, at Sports Authority or Academy, for less than $200 with a 3X9 scope and hardcase included. I think $175 is a bit high for a used one. They are well made and good quality, especially for the price.

  I have one I paid $100 for nearly new except .243. No problem with it other than the trigger leaves something to be desired. Very decent rifles for the money.

  Maggie,
  I have one like the one pictured except the Simmons scope is 4-12x40. Here in southeast Texas it will hold a sub 1/2 MOA group at 300 yards and is a hoot to shoot. A good gunsmith can do wonders with the trigger also.

  one of the greatest guns ever manufactured for the money. get trigger work done and its a blast. i love mine, its the survivor with the 20" bull bbl. shoots like a wet dream!!!

  For the money, I've been really impressed with these little rifles. Have a gunsmith do some trigger work to it if u don't like the trigger, put a nice functional military type sling on it, and a nice scope with some quality rings and mount, and you've got a great shooter.

  Good little guns for the money! From what I hear if you get one that shoots unsatisfactorilly for you the people at NEF want to know about it and they will try to fix the problem! Can't say that for all of the manufacturers!! Varmit Hunter who regularly posts on here has a couple that are absolutely amazing!! GHD

  Good little guns for the money! From what I hear if you get one that shoots unsatisfactorilly for you the people at NEF want to know about it and they will try to fix the problem! Can't say that for all of the manufacturers!! Varmit Hunter who regularly posts on here has a couple that are absolutely amazing!! GHD
