Bedding an M1A

I was thinking about trying to glass bed my M1A myself. Actually, not glass bedding, but Steel bedding.

Does anyone know of any books that may help me with this. Where exactly would you bed it, other than the back and tops where the reciever touches the wood?

How much increase in accuracy should I expect, the rifle already outshoot me.

Any advise or comments welcome please.

  If it outshoots you know, leave it alone. You may not gain a whole lot by bedding it or it could get worse. Bedding is not always the way to go.
