    duster68:

The Colt Courier is essentially a Colt Cobra in either .22LR or .32NP. It should have a 3-inch barrel instead of a 2-inch barrel. (Are you sure you are measuring the barrel from the face of the cylinder forward, and not just the portion of the barrel that is in front of the frame?) Later the Cobra was chambered in .22LR and .32NP, and the Courier name was dropped.

The gun originally had a serial number. If the serial number has been removed, the gun is highly illegal, and has no market value. The serial number should be in the crane area, if it has not been removed. Are you sure the serial number is not in the crane area?

I might be interested in your revolver. Please describe it to me in more detail as to condition and any damage. If you find a serial number in the crane area (the forward frame hinge area when the cylinder is opened), please report that to me as well. Please identify the maker of the holster and describe it in detail as well. Please e-mail me at

I look forward to hearing from you so we both can learn more about your Courier.

If the serial number has been obliterated, it has value as parts. I bought a Smith & Wesson Model 37 like that for $25.

I kept all the parts and destroyed the frame. Still looking for a replacement frame. 36 or 37.

I took it out tonight and see that it does have a serial number (34xxx). I didn't know where to look.

I am glad to learn this revolver does not have a removed serial number. (The serial number should have a suffix of "LW.") The serial number charts show it was made in 1955.

Again I say, I am interested in your revolver. If you would like to discuss it further, please contact me by the e-mail address set out above.

It does have the "LW" along with a few other markings that are kinda hard to make out. The barrel is 3" also. Thanks for all your help!
