Mauser 71 (price check)
A friend asked to to determine the value of his model 71 Mauser Single shot bolt action rifle (cal 11.15x60R aka 43 Mauser)
Rifle appears to be complete, except for the ramrod and is in good-very good condition for it's age. 34" barrel 3 bands 1100 meter rear ladder sight. SN#'s match on the barrel receiver bolt striker, safety and the head of every screw I look at (994x). Left side of receiver is marked M.Mod.71 on the right side marked 1874 (behind the bolt) and R.F.S. (each letter is wearing a crown) ahead of the loading port. Barrel is marked ESTERR.WAFFFB.GES under a crown, FW under a crown and F.D.G.R.S. (each letter wears a crown). The butt plate is marked 112 R over 10. (unreadable)
The stock appears sound overall with handling dents and 2 minor cracks behind the tang (under 1/4").
Attached to the end of this thing is a Solingen W&ST bayonett 19" blade, brass handle, split band clamped around the barrel in addition to being clipped to the lug.
Any ideas of the value for this rifle?
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

Well the bayonet alone is worth a good $100+. The gun? Hmm. In good/VG shape I would say about $700; though I haven't seen many for sale. Last one I saw was nearly mint at $1200.
