It is a good gun, very reliable and robustly constructed.

I like the 226 and 229 better. They have aluminum, not plastic frames and are easier to field strip and work on.

I own 8 other 40 S&W caliber pistols(Glock, S&W, Browning, Colt, Star, H&K, and Kel-Tec) and I believe that my Sig-Pro is probably the most accurate of the bunch. I have been very happy with mine.

I own a PRO in .357sig,it doesnt tame recoil like the P229 or the Glock 31.But it shoots well is very reliable. And I like the changeing backstraps.

I intended on buy a 2340 but after shooting it got a 229 instead. Like rugster said the recoil in the polymer frame is a good bit more. I shot the .40, but I'd hate to imagine the .357SIG. In a nutshell I love my 229 and now my 226 is very neglected because of it. A great and well balanced gun. Buy one, you won't be sorry.

Wouldn't take a polymer SIG over the metal ones. If you want polymer get a Glock.
