Glassbedding

Glass bedding is a way of insuring that the action and barrel stay in the same place shot after shot. It locks the action securely into the stock so there is no movement caused by recoil in relation to where the action rests. There are different methods of bedding that have evolved over the decades. You can bed the action and "float the barrel" or you can bed from one end of the gun to the other. I have seen very few rifles that didn't acheive an accuracy benefit from bedding. The earlier and still used today method is to bed using a fiberglass epoxy or gel to accomplish this. There are also stocks that utilize "pillar bedding" which is a bearing point at the stock screws and accomplishes the same results... inccreased shot to shot accuracy. Hope ths helps a little! GHD
