Is it hard to get a C&R permit?
Who do I contact?
What do I do?

  I'm selling an old Martini (over 50 years old) with a new .222 Remington barrel. Prospective buyers are telling me it's a C&R. Is it? If you say "yes", please post an ATF reference.

  gravedigger, bound books can be purchased through commercial sources. You can find advertisements in Shotgun News or other trade papers. You can also simply make your own, hand ruled on paper of your choosing, if you wish. As long as your book has the correct format you can use anything that is "orderly".
  
  Remember that you sign only the copy of the license and not the original- some folks still make this mistake! Most people recommend that you sign in a color other than black and that is fine advice.
  It is all pretty basic and I think your friend will be amazed at how quickly his collection grows from this point on! Every time the UPS truck pulls up it is Christmas.
