OT: think ruger will start producing a 10/17?
i see that volquartsen is making a 10/17. sounds like a great litle gun. i wonder if ruger will produce one for less than the $1000 price tag on the volquartsen!!!???

I hope Ruger does!!! I'm sure they are already considering it so now it's up to us convince them... call, write, or e-mail Ruger and tell them you're interested.
By the way, this should really be on the disscussion thread.0 -
I think Ruger will make one if a few ammo makers start selling the cartridge.
Best!!!

Who's making ammo? If there's ammo not in every Walmart etc, who'd buy it? Remember the .41 AE, the .221 Fireball, the .17 Remington? 0 -
In the
The Accurate Rifle Mag. Don't remember what issue, last three I think,
had an artical on the .17 Rem. A bench rest shooter had a rifle built
an a standard action or stock action, long story short the guy pluged a water (1 gal) jug at 600 or seven hundred yards.
Its a funny story but true, It happend after a Match shoot with a bunch of bench rest guys.

sunray, You need to open your mind's curtains and let the sunlight in!! This one isn't going away!! Too many big names already chambering for it and the accuracy of the 17HRM is simply amazing!! A great caliber to introduce a kid to varminting with and as I said the out of box results at the bench are phenomenol! How many out of the box rimfires have you seen shoot sub 1" groups at 200 yards? As far as the 10/17 I would bet it's coming soon as Remington has already announced the 17/597. GHD 0 -
Not to bash ruger but if you want to see accuracy decline let ruger put that caliber in a 10/whatever design. The gun is a fun to shoot tin can plinker design and nothing more... 0 -
There are some guys at rimfirecentral that would disagree with that statement. Specifically look for some of ChiefDave's threads.
