Bound Book Format
I have had a C&R for some time, but have yet to use it. Despite some amount of searching on the ATF site, there is no clear definition or format stated. It only says the book should be either bound and/or loose leaf in a folder with sequentially numbered pages (a computer based data system is allso allowable under a varieance). I know that "special" bound books can be purchased for 7 to 10 dollars via several sources, but I have some bound books with sequentially numbered pages, just need the format. Thanks for any information provided. If possible, could any info provided come with a source as well?
Thanks

ahankster, if you have a C&R FFL you also received the Firearms Curio and Relics List- ATF 5300.11. Page 8 of the March, 2001 edition has the details and format of the "bound book" for collectors. It may be possible to view this somewhere on the ATF site at www.atf.treas.gov
I don't know about that. Here is what you need:
DESCRIPTION OF FIREARM ....................DISPOSITION
Under the description side you need the manufacurer or importer,
model, serial number, type, caliber or gauge, date booked in, name and address or license number of the person you aquired the firearm from. On the disposition side you need the date the firearm was sold, name and address or license number, date of birth if a non licesee, I.D. type and number if a non licesee, and any aditional documentation for proof of residency if transfered to an alien.
You are also free to add other colums for descriptions, prices, grading- anything you want. The ATF mandates that you have the above listed information however and it must be orderly. You should be able to buy such a book at any gun show for $10 or just make your own on your computer. The ATF has no preference as long as the information is there and correct.

The format is located in 27CFR178.125f. It is on page 70 of the "Green Book" you should have received.

Thanks guys.
I will look through the book. I searched the website and came up with allot of hits that talked about the requirment to have and who has to keep one, but no specific "what goes in column one, two, three, etc".
My green book and C@R List is in my office and I will look where you indicate.
Appreciate the help.
