i need scope bases for a remington 597

i have a 597 in a .22 mag and i know the guns not worth anything so i cant sell it so id like to put a scope on it but cant find bases. if anyone knows if they make them or where i can get them please post back and let me know.thanks.

  i found some 1" rings that clamp to the groves on top of reciver at wal mart or k mart dont remeber for sure which, for my 597. does do 22 mag use same style as 22lr rim fire?

  You don't need a base, just 22 rings. 22's almost always are "grooved receivers" to accept this type of ring. If you choose to put a large diameter objective scope on it you will need higher than standard rings. Millett makes high quality 22 rings if you opt for higher rings. You can get rings from 7.00- 25.00 whatever you want. GHD
