Mark Christian, the grips are smooth, yes there is a screw holding the quick release, the trigger is located toward the rear of the guard, the lanyard ring is round and about an inch in diameter, the backstrap is arched the entire length, there is no ejector rod, yes there are screws below and behind the safety lever, the safety lever is about an inch and an eighth long, thin at the screw end with a thumb piece on the other end. I found a picture of one and it appears to be a Reichsrevolver, model 1883. the only difference i can see is the grips in the picture are checked.
