bluesteel, these would be either the safety hammer or safety hammerless models- depends on whether or not they have hammers. IJ made about a million of these from around 1892(hammer) or 1895 (hammerless) up until 1950. Barrel lengths ran from 2" up to 6" and every thing in between. Here are some sample prices from the wonderful year of 1907: IJ hammerless or hammer revolver,.32 or .38 caliber: 3" nickel- $4.10, 4" $4.35, 5" $4.60, 6" $4.85. Blue finish was an extra 25 cents. Oh yes, be sure to add 15 cents for prepaid express postage-well worth the extra cost! You should be able to find the current prices in your Blue Book under the Safety Hammer or Safety Hammerless headings for revolvers. I don't have my copy handy but I know they are in there.

iver johnson's arms & cycle works manufactured the safety automatic hammer (hammerless) revolver from 1894 until 1941 in three models
    1st model 1894-1896
    2nd model 1896-1908
    3rd model 1909-1941

there were more 1st and 2nd models manufactured than 3rd models and only the 3rd model is safe with modern ammo. they were manufactured in two different frame sizes and hammer and hammerless models in both frame sizes.

can help you identify which model(s) you have if you can furnish
    more information; namely
    1. complete markings on barrel top rib (and if present on the left
    side of the barrel
    2. complete markings on the bottom of the butt strap (if any)
    3. serial number found on the bottom of the butt strap (if any)
or serial number on the left side of the grip frame (under the
grips) with any letter code in front of the serial number.
the serial number on the grip frame is the main location
