put up a WTB ad
Prism,
Put up an ad on every forum you can think of. These are hard times. There are lots of DE's out there, and someone will offer you a blued in the $8-850 range. Some patience should reward you. I found both my DE's this way; it took 2 months to find the 44 ($600), but the 50 was easy because it really is a 'recreational luxury', and one of the first novelty guns to go when guys thin out their inventory. I found my 50 in Nickled finish, w/ 5 mags, 200 rounds of Samson, and a Leupold Red Dot for $1200. Took two weeks. Just keep 'btt'-ing your ad.

and to think I passed on a SS/nickle? one last year for $850 with just 2 mags. a dealer was selling it on consignment no less!!! I later traded a guy a carbon 15 with the black barrel, 6 GI mags, and 300 rounds of ss109 for a black DE 50 with 3 mags , 2 holsters, and a custom made for the gun laser and then turned the gun and extras for only $1200 but I only had 8 in the carbon 15, mags and ammo. I shot it a few times but I like big caliber wheelguns better. I have a taurus 454 and love it. 2 less rounds, but a much better shooter. plus you can shoot cowboy 45's to practice with on the cheap. I hope to pick up a 480 taurus with the 5 " barrel. also the bulls are half the price. the 50 is gonna cost you a buck every time you pull the trigger. but to each his on - if you're a semi auto guy you'll probably love the DE but if you can find someone who is selling theirs try to get a shoot before you buy it. good luck.
