weatherby bolt

At a local store there is a Weatherby 30 06 Vangaurd that is missing the bolt (I think it was stolen or maybe lost). Is it hard to find a bolt for this gun? Is it expensive?

  Why not go to the source, Weatherby, Inc. 3100 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA 93442 805-466-1767 and talk it over with them. I suspect that they'll want you to give them the serial no. so that they can figure out what generation it is; and also, if they have a bolt, that they'll want to install it to assure that the headspace is correct.

  I'll second the advice to contact Weatherby direct. Chances are that the bolt got lost during a recall on the Vanguard bolts. I'd think that this one was sent in to Weatherby to be upgraded and somehow never caught back up with the rifle. Weatherby will have a record of it if they saw it.
  
  BTW, for any Vanguard owners - the updated bolts have the F(ire) and S(afe) marks filled with red and white respectively. The original bolts have no color infill. The Weatherby website gives complete info.
