CZ75b

I am considering buying a CZ75b in 9mm. I have several pistols in various calibers but like the cheap 9mm ammo. However, I am considering getting the CZ in .40 S&W which I know to be a more powerful cartridge. Besides, the fact that .40 is more expensive, is there any down side to that caliber in a CZ75?

    I've got a 75b, but it is in 9mm (never shot, only held a 75b in .40)

    From what I've heard the 75b in .40 is just as great as the 75b in 9mm. The one I held felt identical to the 9mm model, and I went with the 9mm primarily becuase it IS cheaper to shoot. I'd say just pick which caliber you want and you will be happy with it.

    One other thing to consider with CZ's. They do have a CZ40 model, that's much more of a 1911 style than the 75b design. It didn't interest me when I was shopping last month, so I didn't hold it to see how it feels in my hand.

    To me, the funny thing about CZ's are that they've been around so long and yet very few people have heard of them. I talked to about 10 guys I know through work that do a lot of shooting and own a lot more than I do, but none of them knew of CZ. There are two shops here in town that carry CZ's, one only has about two of them, but teh other shop had about 12 the last time I looked, multiples of every model in different finishes. The CZ75 design has basically been around since 1975, only going through a few changes, and then the 75B has the largest change with a firing pin block (hence the B designation). They are a low priced handgun that is of very good quality. My next purchase will likely be either a SIG 220/226 or an HK USP40 or USP45, but I'm very happy with the

    Caliber choice is up to you but I bought a CZ75B 9mm and its the best money Ive spent.Out of 40 or so Handguns this one is as good as it gets.

    you can only get 10 rounds of 40 in the gun 15 of 9mm. The 9mm i have loaded to +p+ standards and have put 5000K rounds of the hot stuff through one of mine, which makes about as much energy as the .40 the only change a stiffer recoil spring. The .40 guns seem to cost a little more than the 9's. They are an excellent bargain all arround.
