Remington Long Action & Magnum Action
On a Rem. 700 receiver is long action and magnum action the same length or is a magnum action longer?

There is a long action magnum action. It is for the big boys, 300 Ultra and Weatherby, 375 H&H and Ultra, etc.

I would guess that my 300H&H takes the Ultra Long Action then. Am I right?

Yes those are all the longer case that take a true magnum length action.

Maybe I'm just being anal when I read the above descriptions. If so just ignore me.
Remington manufactures two (2) lengths of actions in the 700 series, a short action for cartridges from the .221 Fireball up to the 6MM Remington and a long action for the '06 length cartridges up to the Remington UltraMag length.
The long action is the same length overall as the magnum action.
They make the Remington Model 7 which is a variation of their short action but is used in conjunction with "featherweight" type rifles.
