Need help ,what kind of shotgun .
I have a shotgun but don't know what kind it is maybe some of you might know. It's a double barrel has the word ranger written in scroll on the left side of receiver. On the right side it stamped 5000. It's a 12ga 30 inch bbls. serial numbers all match C xxxx. I've looked in all my gun book's and can't find any information on this gun. Any help on this one guy's thank's in advance

I believe you have what is called the Texas Ranger shotgun,made by Stevens.They were made for Montgomery Ward and other Hardware stores.Its also known as the Model 95,it was made in the early 1900s-1940.They are good guns but have no collector Value.

I know that Winchester made shotguns called "ranger", but don't know if they made any doubles. I would think that it would say U.S. Repeating Arms on it someplace, if it is a Winchester.
Also could be a gun made by some manufacturer for a certain store. I have a 12 single, and the only markings on it are "Russo", a bad stamp of a rooster, and "Chicago, Illinois." Nearest I ever got to finding out, was that it was made for some hardware store in Chicago, maker unknown. Good luck!0 -
