My personal preferance is the Leupold but Nikon and Pentax are both
excellent. Suggest, if possible, look through the binoculars you have listed and make a choice. Leupold has a fantastic warranty and repair
station I have been told. My Leupolds have never had to make a return
    visit though.

Per your choices in order of Best-Better-Good:
Pentax. Hands down. Just take a view.
    Nikon.
    Leupold (they don't make WR)

    Happy Bullet Holes!

Go to SierraTradingPost.com. They have a fairly wide selection of excellent Steiners for very reasonable prices. I'd recommend a 7x35 or 7x50 or 8x50. Try to stay away from and high magnification and low objective diameters as they will be terrible in low light situations. Best magnification and objective diameter would be 7x50. Beach

My favorites in that price range (just a few dollars more) are Eagle Optics Rangers. I have used my 8x42's with Leicas and find the only difference is the Leicas give me about 5 more minutes of light at the ends of the day (at a $500 difference in price). Take a look at these two sites for good prices. www.eagleoptics.com and
www.bearbasin.com JustC has another site he likes as well, and likely he will add it in for you.

I like Pentax DCF-HR. The 8x42's work well in the woods for bow hunting. I like the 12x42 DCF-HR for all the other hunting I do. Retail is 399.95. However you can find them on the auction sights for less. I bought a pair for 227.50. They are very clear and not ridiculously expensive. GHD
