Shipping guns from home...
i have a few guns back on the mainland that i wanted to have shipped to me here in hawaii. the guns are now at my parents house in ny and i was wondering the best way to send about 7 guns.....
i read on the atf site that mailing guns to yourself from one state to another is legal. anyone have a reccomendation for a box to use? would it be cheaper to send all 7 at once, or send them individually?
TIA
kyle

I would ship them all together in a heavy wood crate with lots of insurance. Hawaii has some serious gun control, so you should check to make sure all your guns are legal there before you send them.
You could also take them with you on the plane in a lockable hard gun case made for travel, just make sure you declare them with the airline.
I flew to Idaho a couple months ago with 3 guns for a shooting match with no problems. Of course, they cannot be carry-on.

Go to the USPS web site and find Pub 52, Restricted Matter. Go to section 44 Firearms. They have some of your question answered. Follow the advice about checking with the locals first. Hawaii has some of the most restricted laws on the books. Call the NRA and ask them for a copy of the state laws pamphlet. 0
