S&W WHAT IS IT?

I recently aquired a K-frame S&W, 38 sp, 6" bbl pinned, target grips (may not be original) standard trigger and hammer, target rear and target FRONT sights. By inspection, I'd say it is a model 14, but it is marked mod 15-3.
Do I have a mismarked mod 14 or an unusual mod 15?

  The Model 14, K-38 was discontinued in 1981.
  Model 15 Combat Masterpiece 6 inch was made from
  1986 to 1991.
