UPS and broken stock

What about the cost for bedding too?

I'm not too suprised though, almost every box I get through UPS is crushed or looks like its been opened ... I've had well padded rifles delivered with the barrels hanging out of the box, fortunately I've never had anything damaged I figured was worth my time fighting to get paid for ... not to say nothing has ever been damaged.

Nothing irritates me more than insurance companies anyway ... its a racket protected by the government and required for so many things by local government ...

If they did enough damage to brake the stock, I would be suspect of other damage to barrel (bent) don't settle for less than full value!!

I HAVE A CLAIM WORKING FOR OVER 60 DAYS. IT SEEMS THE PROGRAM IS DELAY, DELAY. DELAY AND SOON YOU WILL FORGET. STAY AFTER THEM AND MAKE THEM REPLACE THE WHOLE RIFLE.

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

Some time ago had a rem 700 delivered with broken stock. Got first class runaround. Had my attorney notify them I was about to file suit
for damages plus attorney fees. Was settled with 5 days.

I would work in a 20 dollar K-mart/Wal-Mart plastic rifle case with foam padding into the sale. Put the rifle in the case, zip tie the lock loops on the case, and box it up.

Just my 2 cents. My collector grade model 12 winchester is still sitting on the shelf after being delivered broken in half by UPS more than 6 months ago. They won't pay the collector value on the gun even though the pump was insured for $2000 . By the way it was shipped in a hard case packed with fillers .

Kent, sorry for your loss--and you had it in a hardcase---ucking
incredible!Again we pay for insurance and then are not able to collect
there is something very wrong with a system that allows this.I have
had no dealings with Fedex and we stopped using the post office when
they lost a pre-64 M70---they did FIND it 10 days later and it was
    intact. DW

Take them to small claims Court .As long as it was packaged properly they usually settle before your case comes up.

Have a lawyer send them a letter. That seems to get a very fast reponse out of large companies.Certified works best because the person signing for it will go the extra distance to get it to the right people who will handle it.
