I have a NFA stamp, IRS $200 for the ownership of a full auto weapon.
I have sold the gun and have the stamp, it's dated 1989 when I bought the gun. I understand they are quite collectable and worth high dollars. Can anyone value this stamp for me?

  rubberman, there are individuals who collect these NFA Stamps. The idea is to get a cancelled stamp for every year since the NFA went into effect in 1934. Keep in mind that there are nearly 2 million registered NFA weapons in the United States and at least 200,000 were registered or transfered by individuals so the stamps (both $200 and $5...plus a few others) are unusual, but not truely rare. I have data that shows that there were about 8,500 taxable NFA registrations and transfers by individuals in 1989. Since most of those stamps are still in use (those folks still have their NFA weapons) your loose stamp could indeed be valuable. I have seen advertisements in the Gunlist from people searching for NFA stamps from specific years. Good luck.
