never loosen the screw on the power adjustment ring. often times it will also release any gas inside. the ring should be closer to the shooter and knurled all the way around it.as for how tight the screw should be, i have no idea.

OK, but wait, whats wrong with it??? all I did is loosen that nob hex screw on the variable dial, I moved the dial, it moved easier. So I tightened it back up pretty snug....then the dial didn't move....so I backed it off so the dial turns with the same tension it had....I didn't take it all the way out, but loosened it quite a bit.. The variable works like it did. I havn't yet shot with the scope. What could that have did to hurt the accuracy????? I'm going on a 1000 mile hunting trip in 2 weeks, so I cannot send it to Burris. And what about the Gases released?? what gases, and also, Did it affect the accuracy??? Somebody tell me some more, Thanks EVERYONE!!!

Daddo, What the real question is, Warranty what? What will or might happen when I go and sight it in, in a couple weeks???? Right now, I have no excuse if i could send it in..(which there is no time anywho)
I guess in my view, I just need to take it to the range and sight in my gun, and if it puts 3 in a golfball at 100 yards, it will work for this season right????? or......?? Signed, "panicing in ND" or shouldn't I be?

Don't know about Burris, but Leupold will warranty any problems, even stupidity. I personally know one Leupold that spent 10 days under 10 feet of water. It came up perfectly clear. Still is, a dozen years later. Another one had it's tube broken in a fall. Leupold WARRANTEED it. That's service!!
I personally own 4 Leupolds, wouldn't buy anything else..
