Best CO2 pistol for the money
Your advise is truly appreciated. I am looking for a nice pistol to backyard target/plinking/all around shooting. So many companies to choose from. I have my eye on the Walther Cp99, but any other models and companies will help.

Over all, best gun for the money, dont get CO2. a .22 does a damn nice job for plinking, etc.
For huge fun, I would personally recomend a Calico M-100
.22 cal Semi-automatic (can be fixed:-P)
it has a 100 rnd tube that goes on top between the action and the butt. Now they arent the most accurate guns in the world, due to the sights, and you go through a brick of ammo in, well i can shoot 100 rnds in 30 seconds on semi... thats just me though. Yes, i have timed it. However, 80 cans falling over in a wave, I dont know maybe its just me, but i think thats much fun:-)

I believe you are talking about the ANICS Skiff-3000. Long term it has been as accurate and as functional as the day it was purchased. Due to the takedown of the pistol being very much like a 1911, it is very easy to maintain. The only wear and tear item of the pistol that I consider unsatisfactory is the 28shot magazine. The Mag. is not as durable as one would like however if you are to avoid dropping them they will generally stay problem free. Extra mags are available for purchase at compaseco at around $8 a piece.
If you are looking for a repeating air pistol that will fire at around 500 FPS this is the one to get, you wont be disappointed. While it is not the cheapest of all CO2 pistols it has been extremely durable and has held its' accuracy through 1year of hard use. You get what you pay for and with air pistols this is no more clear. Look at it this way, I own at Glock that fires 900 FPS, this is an air pistol that shoots at 500. Definately a squirel killer.

To me the geaest CO 2 pistol is the old Crossman Mod. 600 .22 auto.
They are very hard to find, but a true single action 10 shot automaic.
I still have mine from the 1960's and had it rebuilt once and still is a fine shooter. Wish Crossman would start building them again.0 -

I just recently bought a Walther PPK blowback air pistol that is not only a dead ringer for the real thing, it weighs about the same, is made almost entirely of metal, is licensed by Walther, takes down like the real thing, but best of all is the blowback slide! It even recoils when you shoot it! The only downside, shoots only 300 FPS but that's still enough to go through an aluminum can from 25. I bought mine for 80 bucks from auction and got four 15 round clips. Gun is a blast to shoot! When I target shoot in my garage, it feels like I have my own personal shooting range. Get one! 0 -
Duster,I'll bet it only shoots 300 FPS because 200 FPS worth of energy is going into the novelty of the slide blowing back. Personally, I take the power at the muzzle every time.

...Awhile back I spent some money on a ( Crossman? ) air pistol that looked kinda like a Glock 17L. It was cool-looking, and only cost about $50. But after about 50 shots the thing went south, so don't buy one. Started squirting air out of every orifice it had- thought it was going to blow! I must have blown a seal, somewhere.
I'm going to have to agree with the .22 assessment. I've had a lot more fun with a little, cheap .22 than I ever did with a CO2 gun. And they're easier to load!

Thanks guys. I just ordered the Anics 3000. I guess I'll save up for .22 or maybe start shooting my Browning Hi-Power. Thanks again guys.

Josie, you're right, but the thing is still amazing. It goes about 70 shots before the power drops to the point where the slide doesn't blowback. It sure is fun having the function of a real pistol at a power level that for my purposes is perfectly adequate. Looks absolutely authentic too. 0
