H+R SINGLE SHOT PISTOL [USRA]
HAVE ANY OF THE MEMBERS EVER HAD THE CHANCE TO SHOOT ONE OF THESE? I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE, AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHERE THEY ALL WENT . DISAPPEARED I GUESS. I DO HAVE HUNDREDS OF OLD AMERICIAN RIFLEMAN MAGS. FROM THE 1917 TO 1945 AND THE ARTICLES SHOW THEM AS A QUALITY SHOOTER,CAPABLE OF SHOOTING DIME GROUPS AT 50 YRS IN A MACHINE REST, AND WON CAMP PERRY TOO. WALTER ROPER DESIGNED. I WOULD LIKE INFORMATION ON THEM IF YOU HAVE EVER HAD THE CHANCE TO SHOOT ONE, AND THE RESULTS. OR INFORMATION ON H+R COLLECTORS. THANKS DALE HOPKINS

Hi Dale, and Capt. Kirk:
I have a very early USRA Singel Shot # 879 and it does shoot as good or better than a lot of the newer guns I've shot, I haven't gotten dime size groups but have gotten nickel size at 50 yds with match ammo off sand bags. The one I have is not marked USRA, guess it's to early for that marking. I think less than 3500 of them were made from 1928 to maybe mid 1940's, maybe that's why not many are found in this day and age. I'm also looking to buy a few more just to collect and shoot, would like to have a later one marked USRA as I understand they have more features and were the top of the line for the time period, even better than the S&W Single Shots and the Colt Camp Perry.
Capt. Kirk,
Why isnt this a question for the Experts ?. I think it would take an Expert to answer a question like this.
