Old double ID?
What a great forum! Thanks for the site. I have an old damascus double barel 12 Ga. made by S.J.D & Co. It's marked "THE INTERNATIONAL" and has the number 73474 stamped behind the triger gaurd. Any info will help.

Your gun is featured on front cover of the 1884 catalog of E. C. Meacham, St Louis arms distributor's 1884 catalog; price $36.66 for either 10 or 12 guage. The illustration shows a fancy butt plate with inscriptions you list, and side locks are marked "Machine Made." It is shown again on back cover with "trade discount" price of $29.33. "The International" and "S.J.D. Machine Made" were registered as trademarks 1885 and 1887 by Simonis, Jamssen & Dumoulin of Liege, Belgium. 0
