Romainian 22
I was in a local gun shop yesterday, and they had a whole rack of Romainian 22lr's. They seemed like a really well built rifle. Several had 95%bluing and near perfect wood with a nice glossy finnish, no nicks or dings. 69.99 seemed like a really good buy. are they any good? They felt incredibly solid, unlike almost every other 22 on the market today for even 3x the money. I need another 22 like I need a hole in the head, but I can't get these out of my mind.

You can't have to many 22s!!! For $70 get it if it proves less than worthy, sell it. Check the bore, and see if extra mags are avail at reasonable cost. At most you are out extra burger money for the month.

These Rifles are quite accurate, and put together with Old World Quality Craftsmanship.....Spare Mags cost $15.00 each and available thru J & G Gunsale in Prescott, Arizona..I'll tell you one thing tho...If you decide to take the Bolt Down, You'd better have a Bench Vise handy to put it back together...Its got a Spring heavy enough to Fire a cannon...and putting it back together will teach you a lesson you won't soon forget...

I've got a couple of these, and I like them, though I have so many .22s that I don't get to shoot them as much as I should. I kept one strapped to the back of my pick-up seat for some time just to be sure to always have a rugged little rifle available. Seventy bucks for a good little bolt action repeater can't be too much of a gamble in any case. As with all milsurps, be sure to look for all matching serial numbers. 0 -
Listen to these guys!! I picked up 4 of them this spring and they are definately solid rifles and dead accurate!! I've got a 13 year old and 2 nephews the same age and they have been using these things every weekend with absolutely no problems. I took mine and stripped the stock, sanded it down and just coated it with Boiled lindseed oil and you would swear it's an early Marlin when they had that birchwood look!! really sharp, still shoots good too!! for $70.00 go for it!! I don't think you will be disappointed, you can also find clips on E-Bay if nothin else..

I had a bunch of these a few years ago. Solid guns. Sold well.
Before you could get spare mags, I bought several that had no mags for about $20 each.
I sold them to a Scout leader for use at a camp. Made him a heck of a deal on them, too. Had they not been suitable for such use, I would not have sold them to him for use by Scouts.

I find mine isn't that accurate. The sights aren't that good. But I like the rifle and as most people find theirs is accurate, so go for it. YOu might get one cheaper at a gun show, I've seen 'em for $40-$50. There is also a single shot version.
