Follow up to Springfield or Colt

By some of the answers that I got to my last posting, it was hinted that the springfield 1911 mil spec is not made in the USA. Is that true? Where is it made?

  Jgreen I think they are made in Brazil.I like the springfield for the price, but I prefer USA made Colts.

  The slide and frame forgings are done in Brazil.The guns are built here.
