    It looks like about 1980, but I have no idea how many were made. I do not believe this revolver is rare, but it may be a bit uncommon.

    I love the 8-inch .22 Mark III revolvers. They are really a handfull in .22. That fat, long barrel with the little hole in the middle makes for a lot of weight in the hand.

    I do not know anywhere you could look to determine how many of a particular finish have been made. Maybe a factory letter from Colt would mention how many were in a particular order, but there may be more than one order of electroless finish.
