Kimber 1911 Question Follow-up - EAA/Bul M-5

Thanks for everyone's feedback. Since I posted that question last night I have done a little research and stumbled across a little 1911 by EAA called the Stinger. From the forums I read and the info I could find, the EEA (or Bul M-5) appears to be the same thing as the Kimber Ultra II ten. What I read is that Bul, at one time or another supplied Kimber with the Poly frame, while Kimber supplied Bul with the upper. This interest me very much since the EAA is in the $400 or so range and the Kimber is the $700 or so range. Is this true? Can I have a Kimber clone, with the same quality for about half the price? Please chime in and learn me something.

  kbobk - I haven't seen any of the BUL guns around for quite awhile, I saw quite a few the first year or two Kimber introduced their Polymer. I wasn't impressed with the BUL at all, fit was no where as good as the Kimber, trigger pull was gritty and heavy ... this was 4-5 years ago but I haven't even seen any BUL's at dealers that carry EEA products or at gunshows ... that may be an indication of no demand. Although I don't have one, the EAA Witness models are very popular and well respected by many board members here.
  
  I did finally find one on Another Auction site, used for $489 - no bids ... It has the square trigger-guard & checkered grips like the early Kimber Polymers.
  
  If you see one I'd be interested in a comparison ... especially if you have a chance to handle the Kimber too.

  BUL of Isreal makes some very good competition guns. There entry level(M5)leaves a lot to be desired. The examples I have seen had a very poor slide to rail fit, loose lock-up and terrible trigger. I wouldn't call it a Kimber clone. More like a Kimber REJECT.
