Ed Brown 1911's

Anyone have any personal experience with any of Ed Browns 1911's?
Are they worth that money and would I actually feel the difference from a $1000 1911? Thanks , Ron

  Ed Brown makes as good a 1911 as most any of the other custom smiths, Wilson, Baer, Clark etc. The selling point for Brown is that he's a bit more innovative in "shaping" the 1911 to the user's tastes in additon to making a good gun.

  Thanks for the replies. I am thinking about a 9mm 1911 for IDPA in the Enhanced Service Pistol division. I've talked to a couple of fellas that have Springfield Armory 1911's in 9mm and they have had to have them tuned up to get them just right. Ed Browns should be right from the start.
