I have a 32-40 Marlin Safety,with an octigon barrel marked Special smokless steel,no rust but stock is missing, fireing pin is broken, where would I find such parts and what is the value of the gun as a collectibal if any? I also have 32-20 Police Special six shot revolver hand gun made by Colt, in very nice condition, what is your appinions on the value of that gun?

  I'm going out on a limb here and guessing he has a Marlin 1893 lever action in .32-40. The top of the frame was stamped Marlin Safety and the barrel Special Smokeless Steel. I would guess the value to be under $200 as the stock is gone and the firing pin broke. I'd check with Gun Parts Corp. first. Of course I may be wrong about the model.Just a guess.

  knifeusercollections is correct. You have a 1893 Marlin. In the condition you describe the value is not much more than $200.00
  Look closer at the firing pin. It's supposed to be two pieces. They are supposed to be out of alignment when the lever is open. When the lever is closed it pushes them back into allignment. That's what makes it "Safety". I have the black powder marked version. I thought the same thing when I saw mine. Mine has a fajen stock on it. Unfortunatly fajen is out of business now. I'm sure you could get a replacement stock from either a stock manufacturer or gun parts corp. If you plan on making a shooter out of it plan on spending $30.00+ for a box of ammo, or learn to reload. If you already reload cases are readily made from 30-30 or 32 special brass. Cases made this way are about .020" too short and bullets will have to be seated out to make up the difference.
