Savage 410 pump missing part(s) ?
I came across a Savage Mod 30 Pump Shotgun in 410. I noticed a hole in the right side of the reciever and don't know exactly what is missing and how much it would cost to replace it. I did a search on the gunbroker auction site and found a similar gun with a pic of what it SHOULD look like. Looking at the picture below, can anyone tell me what the slotted screw on the right side of the reciever, in front of the trigger guard is for?
Take a look:

It''s the cartridge stop screw with nut. It holds the cartridge stop in place. IE: when you put a cartridge in the magazine the stop holds it in place untill you work the slide to put a cartridge in the barrel. with out the stop & the screw & nut that holds it in place, the ammo will not stay in the magazine. IE: you would have a pump action single shot. I looked in the Gun Parts Catalog & they do not list any parts for the 410 in this model. you might have a bit of a time finding the stop for this one, screw & nut should be the easy part. 0 -
the cartidge stop for the m-170 .30/30 pump should work as they are built on the same fraim. gun parts has these. 0
